Needs Analysis

Any successful training deliverable must address audience needs identified during an analysis phase of the project. Analysis enables educational developers to understand fully the end-user performance expectations, workflow, and environmental factors. Analysis should encompass address three key areas:

• Target audience
• Job task
• Technical environment

Analysis documents follow established methods in the fields of human performance technology, instructional technology, and instructional design. The analysis report guides the other phases of a project.
